Associate
Nicole A. Chanin
Nicole Chanin focuses her practice on complex civil litigation in federal courts, with a focus on labor and employment law.
Nicole represents hundreds of employees seeking to recover unpaid wages under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and various state laws. Such cases include, for example, cases on behalf of tipped employees working in the food and beverage industry, cases for employees who have been forced to work off-the-clock without pay, and cases where employers incorrectly designated employees as “managers” to avoid paying them overtime wages.
During law school, Nicole served as the Executive Symposium Editor for the Belmont Law Review. Nicole also volunteered with the Legal Aid Society, fulfilling the Pro Bono Pledge and earning the Tennessee Supreme Court Law Student for Justice Award for performing 50 or more hours of pro bono work during her law school career.
